THE HISTORY OF CHRIST VIDYANIKETHAN Calendar scroll Genesis

Christ Vidyanikethan, taken shape out of the aspirations of the people of Irinjalakuda, has its origin in June 2002. The school was blessed by Rev. Fr. Jose Chungan. It started with 247 students from LKG to Class VII, 14 teachers and 3 non-teaching staff. Rev. Fr. Jose Sales was the first Administrator.

5 June 2002 : Classes commence (LKG to Class VII)
16 June 2002 : Rev. Fr. Wilson Joseph Tharayil, CMI took charge as the First Principal.
27 Feb. 2003 : Secured No Objection Certificate from the Govt. of Kerala.
9 Mar. 2003 : First Annual Day celebrations.
4 June 2003 : Provisional Affiliation granted and declared recognized by the Indian Council of Secondary Education.
5 July 2003 : Social Awareness Programme (SAP) was introduced as a part of the school curriculum.
20 Sep. 2003 : Christ Vidyanikethan Music & Sports Academies were established.
3 Jan. 2004 : First Family Fest.
9 July 2004 : Foundation stone of the school building was laid by the Hon. Minister for Excise & Fisheries, Prof. K V Thomas and blessed by Rt. Rev. Dr. James Pazhayattil, Bishop of Irinjalakuda.
26 Aug. 2004 : Introduced the annual ‘Kalasandhya’.
27 Aug. 2004 : Introduced the annual ‘Kayika Sayahnam’.
27 Dec. 2004 : Annual exposure camp was introduced for students of Class IX (at Attapadi).
3 Oct. 2005 : School was shifted from Christ College Junior Hostel to St. Joseph’s Block, blessed by Rev. Fr. John Karippai.
21 Feb. 2006 : Christ Vidyanikethan ICSE School and ISC Junior College was inaugurated by His Excellency R L Bhatia, Governor of Kerala.
1 Mar. 2006 : First batch of 14 students appeared for the ICSE board examination.
31 Mar. 2006 : The bust of blessed Kuriakose Elias Chavara was unveiled in the school garden.
19 May 2006 : 100 percent result for the first batch of ICSE.
5 July 2006 : The first batch of ISC started.
13 Jan. 2007 : The Federal Bank All Kerala Inter School Football Tournament for Fr. Gabriel Trophy.
26 Sep. 2007 : Received the permanent affiliation from C.I.S.C.E., Delhi.
21 Oct. 2007 : Fr. Dismas Stadium was inaugurated.
: Hosted the XXV All Kerala Athletic Meet.
29 Feb. 2008 : Christ Vidyanikethan recognised as a centre for ICSE and ISC examinations by the Council.
9 Apr. 2008 : Christ Vidyanikethan identified by FIFA as a Football coaching centre for ‘Vision India’, the first of its kind attached to a private school.
26 July 2008 : Games Complex Inauguration.
10 Sept. 2009 : Hosted XXVI Kerala State ICSE & ISC Cultural Meet 2009.
1 Nov. 2009 : Christ Vidyanikethan Junior Basketball team represented Kerala State in ICSE All India Basketball tournament held at Bangalore.
3 Jan. 2010 : The newly paved road was inaugurated.
: Released the first Science Magazine - “XTROKES”
: Honoured the Golden Jubilarians – School Manager Rev. Fr. Jose Stephan Menachery CMI and Rev. Fr. George Pious Ukken CMI, Provincial, Devamatha Province, Thrissur.
: The six statues of inspiring personalities were unveiled.
: Laid the foundation stone for the Christ International Acquatic Complex.
8 Apr. 2011 : Hosted the 38th Sub Junior State Basketball Championship for Boys & Girls 2011.
15 Aug. 2011 : Inauguration of Decennial Year Celebrations.
28 Sep. 2011 : Hosted the 3rd All Kerala ICSE/ISC Interschool Basketball Tournament 2011.
12 Oct. 2011 : Hosted the XV All India Basketball Championship.
2 Jan. 2012 : Concluding Ceremony of our Decennial Celebrations.

24 August 2013 : Hosted X All Kerala ICSE/ISC Inter School Swimming Competition.
18 October 2013 : Junior Girls Team won All India ICSE/ISC Basketball Championship.
17, 18 & 19 November 2013 : Hosted ASISC National Athletic Meet.
4 January 2014 : Blessed & opened the Christ Vidyanikethan Gateway.
18 October 2014 : Laid the foundation stone of ‘Kalakshethra’.
: Reyna Katharin & Megha Varghese Kerala and became the Runners-up in the Youth Basketball National Championship.
4 January 2015 : Blessed the Grotto of St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara sponsored by Kandamkulathy Anto Family.
5 July 2015 : Rt. Rev. Dr. James Pazhayattil, Bishop Emeritus blessed Christ International Fitness Centre.
31 Nov. 2015 : Master Sanjay P J secured the 4th position in the 31st National Athletic Championship held at Ranchi.
3 January 2016 : Blessed and laid the foundation stone of the II Phase of Christ International Aquatic Complex.
: Opened the Garden in memory of Prof. Joseph P Thomas and Sri. Paul T John at the Aquatic Complex.
: : Declared the opening of CBSE school.
: Unveiled the logo of Chavara Kalakshetram.
20 April 2016 : Fr. Jacob Njerinjampilly CMI took charge as the Principal & Fr. Sunny Punneliparambil CMI as the Vice Principal.
1 June 2016 : Started CBSE School.
18 October 2016 : Reyna Katharin won the 2nd place in 200m & 4x100m Relay and Lekha Thomas secured 2nd in 3000m Walk in National Athletic Meet held at Hyderabad. Reyna Katharin, Aleena Paul Mavely & Minna Joshy in ISC Girls category and Sidharth P J & Anandhakrishnan K in ICSE Boys category became the Runners-up in ICSE/ISC National Basketball Championship held at Hyderabad.
8 November 2016 : Implemented CCTV.
: Borewell for water scarcity.
19 February 2017 : Anjana Paul Maveli was the Captain of Khelo India Basketball Team and the team got 2nd place. She also represented Kerala in the Sub-National Championship and the team became Runners-up.
: Aswin M S & Alan Lijo Thattil represented Kerala in National Football Tournament and the team secured 3rd place.
25 March 2017 : Completed the tarring of the pavements.
23 May 2017 : Fr. Sunny Punneliparambil CMI took charge as the Principal, Christ Vidyanikethan.
29 May 2017 : Master Ashwin Kalarikkal Sekharan bagged State level 3rd Rank in ISC Examination 2017.
17 June 2017 : Nature Club introduced for Class VII.
19 October 2017 : Kum. Anjana Paul Mavely was selected the Captain of National Khelo India Junior Basketball Tournament.
19 January 2018 : 16th Annual Day celebrated instead of Family Fest.
10 February 2018 : Introduced KG Annual Day instead of Performance Day.
25 June 2019 : Received Certificate of Recognition from the Office of the Director of General Education, Trivandrum.
10 October 2020 : Fr. Joy Alappat CMI took charge as the Principal.
9 November 2020 : Fr. Praveen Puthenchirakkaran CMI took charge as the Vice-principal.
